“Believe in Yourself.”
Happy Monday Strong Girls! This past week flew by! I just got back from a big conference in Indy where I met with Sororities and led the morning workouts! Today, I wanted to chat about a little thing called… Believing in Yourself. This can be a topic we discuss for a week, but I’m keeping it short and sweet today.
Whether we realize it or not, our beliefs about ourselves–limiting or empowering shape our identity. Our beliefs influence our decisions, which influence our actions. Thus, if we let our limiting beliefs take over we let our inner critic and self doubt determine our decisions. A lot of us don’t give ourselves enough credit for the things we’re capable of and the things we can achieve. We all have the power in us to achieve our goals through hard work, determination and persistence. But, you must begin by believing in yourself. You must be 100% willing to bet on yourself to get the job done.
It’s okay if this is a difficult concept to swallow. If it is, think about a time or many instances where you accomplished something and that made you feel more confident and feel good about yourself. If you could do something once, who’s to say you can’t accomplish what you set your mind to this time? And, even if you’re scared out of this world and are lacking a little confidence to go forward and take the leap, by using the power of affirmations and visualizations (you can learn how to implement into your lifestyle in the Strong Girl Lifestyle Guide) you can start changing those limiting beliefs of yours.
I know it may be hard to believe in yourself when this is the first time you set out to do something–it’s totally new, unfamiliar and uncomfortable. But, with progress comes confidence. I promise you that as you chip away and work hard, you will see improvement, which will give you that extra dose of confidence you need to believe you can do it! Babies are a great example, by the way. We all start off not knowing how to crawl, stand or walk. But, it is through constant effort that babies/toddlers gain confidence and soon they’re running around and climbing on things! My point is….we must learn to believe in ourselves (through all stages of our abilities) if we want to accomplish our goals and dreams!
