Tell us about yourself!
I live and breathe all things yoga. After years of dancing ballet, I knew the incredible benefits of a strong mind / body connection. Yoga was a seamless transition and I fell not only in love with the intensity of CPY classes, but also the community. Dove right in to Teacher Training in 2012 and received my RYT 200-Hr. I now teach a variety of CPY formats throughout the Denver market. On top of teaching, I am the Studio Marketing Manager for CorePower Yoga nationwide.
What does Strong mean to you and what makes you a Strong Girl?
Strength for me starts in the mind and stems in to the body. Being a strong girl is all about how you can connect all parts of yourself – find physical strength and mindfulness all together.
What do you love about The Strong Movement?
I love the empowering message behind the Movement–Remind women that being strong is all about how you want to feel every day!
How has healthy living increased your confidence and self-esteem?
Healthy living has become part of my makeup. I have realized that not only how I exercise and how I fuel my body matter, but also how healthy is my mind and spirit.
Tell us about your experience with Yoga and how much of a positive role it plays in your life?
Oh man, where to begin. Yoga has transformed not only my career, but also the way I live my life. Yoga has been instrumental in my overall growth as a person.
What’s it like working for a company where you get to do what you love?
I can’t imagine life any other way. I not only get to teach in our CorePower Yoga studios all throughout Denver, but then I get to work at our Studio Support Center and market the brand I love.
What do you wake up looking forward to and excited about every day?
Possibility! Always being open to what a new day can bring.
Do you have any daily rituals? What’s a day in your life like?
I am an early riser. I love waking up early and starting my day with yoga and a small meditation. Outside of that, my days are pretty dynamic and every changing. Keeps me on my toes!
What’s one healthy, positive habit that you’re proud of?
Meditation. I have always known how to move my body, but sitting still has been my struggle. Meditation has allowed being ground down and being more mindful overall.
What keeps you motivated when the going gets tough?
Recognizing that everything is temporary. Yoga has taught me that when you are in a challenging posture that breathing and being present allows you to overcome the difficulty. I apply this idea on and off my mat when the going gets tough.
What is your mantra/philosophy you live by?
Climb Mountains, or become one yourself.
What other goals and dreams do you have for your career?
Growth overall! I am currently in our 300-Hr. teacher-training program to deepen my knowledge of yoga and serve my students better. I want to continue to grow our brand and share the life changing things that happen when you combine a deep-rooted physical practice and mindfulness.
You’ve followed your heart and have worked hard to make your dreams a reality…. What advice do you have for other Strong Girls?
Figure out what you are passionate about in life. Before coming to CorePower, I was working for a marketing agency and marketing brands I couldn’t believe. The minute I found my mat, I realized that I wanted to dedicate my whole life – teaching and career to this transformational practice. Trust what you love!
