Tell us about yourself!
I am most passionate about encouraging women to be confident and healthy in their own skin! I love the outdoors and try to spend all my free time on a trail or at the range.
What does “Strong” mean to you and what makes you a Strong Girl?
Strong means refusing to give up, no matter what obstacle is thrown at you.
What excites you about being a Strong Girl Campus Ambassador?
I love to represent the “minority” in fit girls. I am a plus size girl who plays every intramural sport I can and have even run a half marathon!
What is your favorite thing about The Strong Movement™?
Anything that encourages women to pursue their passions is fantastic and that is exactly what this movement is about.
When did you discover fitness & healthy living and decide to make it part of your lifestyle?
I discovered fitness through sports as a kid, but only decided to make healthy living a part of my lifestyle after suffering from anxiety as a freshman and having some disordered eating habits.
How has exercise and healthy living increased your confidence and self-esteem?
I never feel better about myself than when I am drenched with sweat. When I am active, I feel like I can do anything-whether it is in school or the professional world.
What challenges and/or injuries have you had to overcome on your fit journey?
I suffer from chronic back pain, but feel my best when I stay active so that is when I decided to pursue Physical therapy as my future career.
What keeps you motivated when the going gets tough?
Knowing that fitness is a life-long journey and not one bad day or a bad year. You can always make changes for the better, no matter what.
Do you have any daily rituals?
I am a firm believer that journaling can help keep you sane so I try to journal every night before bed.
