Tell us about yourself!
I am pre-PA and a kinesiology major! I grew up dancing ballet, lyrical, tap, and did dance team during middle and high school. Since coming to college, I definitely gained the “freshman 15” but I did so sophomore year. I lost 40 pounds in High School so I know the ins and outs of losing weight. My weight loss in high school helped me recover from depression and gave me a huge confidence booster.
I really want to loose the weight I’ve gained in college because I feel self conscience and don’t love how I look. I am very much into working out and health, hence my kinesiology major!
I love helping people, that is why I want to be a physician assistant. I had the opportunity to travel to the Philippines during spring break this year and help at medical missions which was the most exciting thing I’ve ever done. I am also a Health Scholar at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange which allows me to help people every week!
What does “Strong” mean to you and what makes you a Strong Girl?
Being a Strong Girl means that you are confident with yourself in all aspects of your life. It also means being able to stand up for what you believe in and what you think is right. It means being nice, helpful, and kind to everyone.
What do you love about The Strong Movement?
The Strong Movement is a way for young women to gain control of their lives. It’s a way for them to be able to keep their mental and physical health in optimal condition. Also it’s a way to connect with other women who want to be confident and help raise each other up.
What excites you about the Strong Girl Community at Chapman!
I think the thing that excites me the most is helping other women become strong and confident with themselves. There is so much pressure today with social media to be a certain type of way that isn’t possible to be. I want to empower women to be who they want to be.
What roles do exercise + healthy habits have in your life?
Whenever I exercise and eat right I feel much more awake and energized. Having an exercise routine helps me with time management. Having a schedule is really important to get everything you need to accomplish in a day done.
