Tell us about yourself!
I was born and raised in Florida, which means I am a longggg way from home. I study theatre and film because I aspire to be in the entertainment industry. I am the oldest of four children so I can pretty much handle anything. I love to exercise, travel, and be in the sun.
What does “Strong” mean to you and what makes you a Strong Girl?
To me, being strong means being happy with yourself and knowing that it is okay if other people don’t agree. At the end of the day, you are the only thing that matters and being able to overcome all the other negative stuff going on in your life makes you the strongest person I know. I am a Strong Girl because I am happy with myself and with my body image.
I am 20 years old but I get told every day that I look like I’m 15. This used to really bother me but instead of letting it take over my life I learned how to use it to my advantage especially in the acting world. Being positive and looking at things in a different perspective can change your entire life. The fact that I can do those things make me a Strong Girl.
What excites you about being a Strong Girl Campus Ambassador?
I am really excited to be a Strong Girl Campus Ambassador because I want to be the voice for the girls who don’t know how to speak up but also for those girls who don’t think they are beautiful in their own way. I am excited to be able to encourage girls on my school campus and teach them how they can be strong.
What is your favorite thing about The Strong Movement™?
My favorite thing about this movement in that it unites girls as one team. Girls can be nasty and evil and always seem to be pinned up against one another. This movement allows girls to come together and cherish one thing we all have in common. That one thing is that we are in control of our own lives and our own habits and we have the power to change everything.
How do you envision The Strong Movement™ growing on your campus as a community of motivated, encouraging and supportive group of girls?
I hope that this movement turns a lot of heads and opens a lot of eyes on my campus. I want girls to want to join this movement. That is my overall goal. I want to be able to present this movement in such an inspiring way that girls are dying to be apart of it.
When did you discover fitness & healthy living and decide to make it part of your lifestyle?
Beginning of college. It was my first time being out on my own. I had to learn how to take care of myself and my body. It eventually became a routine.
How has exercise and healthy living increased your confidence and self-esteem?
When I exercise I am in such a better mood for the day. It sets the tone for how I’m going to feel about that particular day and my way of looking at things. The gym is my emotional and physical release and it overall makes me so much happier about myself.
What challenges and/or injuries have you had to overcome on your fit journey?
The motivation was my biggest challenge in the beginning. Once I am at the gym I am fine but finding the time and the energy to get myself there was very hard and took some getting used to.
What keeps you motivated when the going gets tough?
The end result is what keeps me motivated. I feel better, more positive, and healthier when I put in the time and energy to get active and eat healthier.
What do you love about your body?
I am happy with my entire body because I know what it took to get to how I feel about myself today.
What do you wake up looking forward to and excited about everyday?
Honestly, I look forward to the gym but also to the yummy and healthy food I get to eat after the gym 🙂
Do you have any daily rituals?
My daily ritual includes making a list of things I need to get done for the day. I tend to be someone who stresses about things that are due in the future so by writing them all down I notice that its not too much for me to handle.
