Hey, Strong Girl! Take a moment to reflect on your life right now. Is there anything you’ve been hoping that may happen? Do you remember a recent conversation where you’ve said, “hopefully, x, y and z will happen?” Or, where you’ve responded to someone with these 3 little words, “I hope so.” We’re all guilty of it at some point…. passively waiting or “hoping” for something to come to fruition versus expecting and anticipating that you will attain it through hard work. Your mindset is everything when it comes to working towards your goals and dreams. Building a strong mind requires you to reflect on your inner dialogue and reframe your thoughts and beliefs into a mental state that you control.

So, by expecting something great to happen in your life it forces you to take responsibility and take action to make that very thing you want happen. It creates certainty about one outcome that you believe in and makes it clear to visualize. By merely hoping, you give your mind the opportunity to create two scenarios—one that plays out the way you “hope” it to and one that doesn’t. With hope comes a lot of uncertainty and doubt about your desire and it gives you wiggle room to get off course.

Now, obviously, with expecting something positive to happen comes the responsibility of staying realistic and taking the necessary action. I know you’ve set high expectations for yourself, girl! And, you can totally reach the bar you have set. Just be mindful of your inner dialogue on your journey. The next time you find yourself “hoping” for something, raise your standards—if you really want it and are willing to put in the work, you’ll expect it to happen! It will make all the difference!

xoxo
