4 tips healthy hair gia sinatra 2 the strong movement

I recently chatted with my hairstylist, Gia Sinatra of Le Salon at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills and she shared with me her Top 4 Tips for Healthy Hair.  She’s been cutting, coloring and styling my hair for the past 5 years and I absolutely LOVE her–she’s lovely inside and out and, of course, is amazing at what she does!

I love visiting Gia; all Le Salon clients have access to the gym and spa at the Sofitel during their visit, so I try to get a workout in before my appointments.  The salon is cozy chic with a super cute patio and Angela and Lindsay, also hairstylists at the salon, are the sweetest!  I definitely need to work on #2 below, especially during these cold winter months!

1.  Invest in Shampoo & Conditioner.  A good shampoo and conditioner is key. Go to a salon or professional beauty store. Look for something sulfate & paraben free. At LeSalon at the Sofitel Los Angeles we love Voce hair care. It’s an LA based line that is vegan, paraben & sulfate free, and reasonably priced.

2. Moisturize!  Try to do masks or oil treatments every other week. When in doubt, resort to coconut oil. It’s a great and natural hair mask that’s sold at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.

3. Don’t shampoo every day. When you wash your hair every day you never allow your hair to soak up the natural oils you produce. If you have very fine or oily hair and wash every day try skipping a day and rocking a top knot or high pony tail in between washes. It’s cute and easy to do!

4. Regular Trims. A lot of us love our long hair, but scraggly hair isn’t cute. You should be going to get trims every 6-8 weeks. It’s good to at lease trim off your dead ends. When your hair starts to spilt it continues to split up.
