“Start before you’re ready!”

I think it’s pretty safe to say we’ve all put something off before–whether it was starting a new workout plan, a new project or applying for that internship or next level job….all because, why? …. We didn’t feel ready!  I’ll admit, I definitely had this mentality before I started The Strong Movement and, for sure, before I first set out to become a host!  I think that feeling of not being ready stems from a deeper fear of failure or rejection.  It’s the fear of the unknown and, of course, that comes with major uncertainty!  It’s natural to feel unprepared or unqualified to take that next step or leap of faith, but you can still have those emotions and get started regardless.

Naturally, we as human beings like to be comfortable.  So, when we feel discomfort about starting something, we feel uneasy inside because we don’t know what the outcome is going to be.  Usually there are a lot of negative “what if” scenarios (that are so crazy and most likely will never happen) that play out in our heads that make us even more uncomfortable about getting started.

For me, I wanted everything perfect before I got started.  Can anyone relate?!  I couldn’t possibly get started if if everything wasn’t to my perfectionist standards.  It took some time, but I realized that I was the only person holding myself back because of my limiting beliefs about myself and my potential.

We’ve all heard people say, “next monday,” “next month” and “next year.”  But, honestly, Strong Girl, the time is now!  Life is short and you don’t want to spend your life on the sidelines!  You have what it takes to get in the game and start NOW!  Do you think a baby bird is ready to fly when mama bird pushes him off the edge? Probably not.  But, she pushes him anyways and he learns to fly.

In order to grow and reach that goal or that next level, you have to get through uncomfortable situations. No one is perfect when they first start something, it takes practice and dedication.  Tighten that ponytail, get started and learn and adjust as you go! 🙂
